A Touch of Formality
I promise every post won't be of someone's home with my art in it. Uhhhmmm, ok so maybe just a few:-) It's rare for me to see pictures of my print to canvas pieces sold through One Kings Lane gracing the walls of homes and offices. I came across this adorable blog Stacy + Charlie and loved seeing my Touch of Formality canvas print adorning her living room wall. Love the pink and black accents. Here's a pic of the art, plus a few more of their fantastic home!

Creating Your Own Gallery Wall
Jessie, author of The Long and Short of It blog, recently featured a change-up in her living area gallery art grouping. Practical advice on how to choose some inexpensive pieces and choose your favorites. Jessie inquired a few months ago about a custom print of my Window of Innocence painting, which she featured in her newly revealed display (third from left on top). Here's a snapshot of her wall as well as some other pics from her stylish ranch home.

Kitchen Fixer Upper
We all know I love a light, bright (and white) kitchen. It's no secret. The sight of dark oak cabinets can send me reeling, which is why I promptly had mine painted. You don't have to gut your kitchen to achieve an airy look. You can take out some upper cabinets and insert open shelves, lighten up your backsplash and paint your existing cabinets. Go ahead and add some new countertops if your budget allows. That's exactly what I did, and you can check out the before and after here. But, here is another phenomenal redo featured in House Beautiful. Kitchen designer was T. Keller Donovan and photographs by Michael Price.

They kept the floors to save on money, which was put into some new stainless appliances. I'm asking the same question as you, "Where is the other fridge?"
New hardware pulls and open shelving by Ikea spruce up this kitchen and stay within budget. Love the consistency of the items on the shelves in color and style. Simple painted cabinets take drab/dark to WOW!
Replace your drab 1970's flourescent light or ceiling fan with pendants or a stylish flush mount.
Donovan picked Corian countertops "because it's instantly calming – the material is cool to the touch." Right on! I LOVE my Corian counters as well. Indestructible and so many new colors and designs to choose from. I'm not sure if I can go back to marble.

Latest Happenings
I took a little break from blogging this last week to catch up on some R&R, commissions and personal life. If you are wondering why I have to take off posting on the blog, well this is what I do in my spare time:
Doesn't this look exciting? This was just in the last two days. Don't worry, the large painting still has to go to FedEx for further padding and boxing.
In other news, I'm excited to say my art is currently featured on One Kings Lane again this week. If you want larger sizes of any of my paintings, this is the place to find them...for a steal no less. Sale ends 11:00 am EST June 12th.
Also, have you been to Apartment Therapy?
The site is rock star for home design...from style tips, renovation ideas, decorating recommendations, and much more. And, you don't need an apartment...any abode will do. The site is so popular that more than 8 million people stop by for inspiration each month! My best selling wishbone print was featured in the Make A Wish: Wishbones at Home post, so lots of love to this amazing home resource. Be sure to
check it out!
